Code OBD
On our resource, we provide information about the OBD-II system and related errors. Here you will find the full version of the fault codes, as well as decoding of OBD-2 errors . Simplify the process of analysing errors and performing diagnostics on your car using our OBD-2 codes. Find out how this system helps cars monitor their condition and identify potential malfunctions, enabling more efficient maintenance and repairs.

OBD-2 decoding
To understand your vehicle's diagnostics on your own, you can explore information about the structure and meaning of OBD-2 error codes. The indexing of OBD-2 fault codes is divided into two main categories:
Basic OBD-2 codes (or universal, generic OBD-2 codes)
Basic OBD-2 codes generally have similar characteristics for all OBD-2 compliant vehicles. These errors are usually caused by typical defects specific to each model. Unlike the universal codes, the extended OBD-2 codes provide a detailed breakdown and can be individualised for each vehicle brand. The structure of the basic and extended OBD-2 codes is generally similar, consisting of a Latin letter and a sequence of four digits (in some cases, letters).
Extended OBD-2 codes (or additional, extended OBD-II codes)
It is recommended to decode OBD-2 errors as follows:
P
P – vehicle engine and/or automatic transmission;
B – "body systems" (power windows, airbags, central locking);
C – chassis (running gear);
U – interaction between electronic units.
0
0 – is the common index for all ELM327 Bluetooth codes;
1 and 2 – manufacturer's code;
3 – reserve.
3
1 – air supply or fuel system;
2 – air supply or fuel system;
3 – ignition system;
4 – auxiliary control;
5 – idling;
6 – circuits of the electronic control unit (ECU) or the ECU system in general;
7 – power transmission;
8 – power transmission.

Hi, I’m Lisa. I know how confusing a blinking dashboard light can be — I’ve helped hundreds of drivers figure it out. I keep my explanations practical and clear, just like I’d explain them to a friend or a customer in the garage. No jargon, just real experience.

Hi! I don’t just replace bulbs or batteries — I dig into wires, modules, and circuit diagrams when other technicians have already given up and told you to "just get a new car." If there’s a gremlin hiding in your wiring — I’ll find it.

I always say: the scanner shows a code, not the problem. My job is to find the root cause — not just clear the error from the dashboard. If something is lagging, acting weird, or just not like it used to be — I’ll figure it out.

I know how frustrating it is when you need just one part, but there are five options — and you have to guess which one is right. My job is not to guess, but to get it exactly right. I don’t just look up numbers — I understand how the part works, what it connects to, and what happens if you get it wrong.
